Preschool Curriculum

Educational:

At Butterfly Family Childcare, we focus on the state pre-school curriculum frameworks.  We take the base preschool program from the Learning Box Preschool curriculum to which we add to and create an individual learning experience for each child.  We meet our caterpillars where they are at and help them develop both educationally and emotionally into mature butterflies ready to enter kindergarten.

The #1 goal for all children between the ages of 1-5 is learning how to create and maintain relationships.  We create an environment that allows children to learn how to handle their own emotions and their friends’ emotions while playing and growing into unique and beautiful butterflies.

We teach how our actions affect others, how to problem solve, and how to become the friend we all want to play with.

Creative

Since young children learn best through creativity and play, a playful learning structure is what we strive to create.  We include art, movement, and play into every lesson; our butterflies learn through all their senses and games.

Fun

We love fun! Our goal is to have activities and experiments that allow our children to discover new things and go on adventures. We schedule fieldtrips a few times in the school year and have extra fun activities in the summer months, such as swim lessons with a certified swim instructor.
